I did a couple of gig shoots at the Corner recently and it really irks me that there there are a bunch of concert photographer who never shoot the support bands. The Corner Hotel is notorious for only displaying vivid red lights during the support bands but giving the headlining act good colourful lighting. This is an example of a before (straight out of the camera) photograph and the final image with nice skin-tones, once I have “carbiefied” it! ㋡

It is a HAPPY NEW YEAR of 2011 and I going to start the new year off be announcing my first ever photographic exhibition at Revolver Upstairs, 229 Chapel Street, Prahran. When? It is on the public holiday of Australia Day (Wed 26th Jan 2011). I don’t want this be just another boring photo exhibition BUT I want it be a rockin’ celebration with my personal pick of the most vibrant, intense live bands playing.  For the first time ever in Melbourne, we have SKINWALKERS from The Gold Coast. Plus BITTER SWEET KICKS, THREESOME, VICE GRIP PUSSIES and KIM VOLKMAN. My good friend T J Honeysuckle will be spinning some ultra rare aussie punk vinyl from 10PM onwards in the bar, with Magic Dirt’s Adalita from midnight on.

Exhibition starts in the bar from 5PM for FREE. My handpicked bands are in the bandroom from 8PM onwards for $8. This is a special ONE DAY ONLY EVENT and my photographs will be for sale. COME AND DOWN. It would so great to meet you.

It is everyday I get to meet one of my rock idols and such an inspiration to so many women who have picked up a electric guitar and decided to rock out on stage….it’s the amazing JOAN JETT!!! I couldn’t think of a better way to bring in the New Year. 2011 is gonna RAWK!

So good to see TAME IMPALA leading the charge with so many best album lists for 2010. They performed a great set on the final day of The Falls Festival at Lorne.

I got HEAPS of fun crowd shots at The Falls Festival in Lorne. This happy go lucky bunch had their own pool and I got them to kick some water during the shoot but they all fell over in the process. :)
